Save a clip on Mac
- Copy the text, link or image you want to keep.
- Open Clips in ExplorePaste and choose Save Clipboard.
- Select the saved item to copy it again or share it. Mark a useful item as a Favourite to keep it through ordinary history limits.
Choose automatic capture on Mac
Capture Clipboard starts off. Turn it on only when you want ExplorePaste to save new clipboard items while the app runs. Turn it off to pause capture.
- Open Clips and turn on Capture Clipboard.
- Open Clipboard Settings to choose history limits or excluded foreground applications.
- Turn Capture Clipboard off when you want to pause. You can still use Save Clipboard deliberately.
An excluded foreground app is a useful control, but cannot reliably identify a clipboard write made by another app in the background. Confidential clipboard markers are respected where available.
Save on iPhone or iPad
- Copy an item, open Clips and tap Paste. Respond to the system paste prompt if it appears.
- Alternatively, choose ExplorePaste in another app’s Share sheet and save the supported item.
- Open the saved clip to copy, share or mark it as a Favourite.
Mobile saving is deliberate. ExplorePaste does not keep continuous background clipboard history on iPhone or iPad.
Find or remove a clip
Search clip text or use Favourites only. Search does not read words inside saved images. Clips stay on this device.
Remove Clip is permanent. Clear History, called Clear All Clipboard History in Mac settings, removes favourites too. Read the confirmation before choosing Clear Permanently.
